MACC is the Malaysian Anti Corruption Council or SPRM (Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia) in Bahasa Malaysia. Formerly known as BPR (Badan Pencegah Rasuah) It serves to curb corruptions, cronisme and so on, and most of these cases revolve around bribing and abuse of power.
In Malaysia, the earlier days saw SPRM working freely in the country, investigating any case that was reported. It wasn't placed under any department or ministry, but directly under the parliament, giving it total control over any action that it took. But later, under the 4th prime minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad SPRM was moved under Jabatan Perdana Menteri.
After that, SPRM was no longer a capable department since it was then controlled for various purposes, mainly political and individual.
We can clearly see how vast the difference is, reported cases revolve around small fries, with bribes of RM200-RM1,000, the largest amount I heard was a case involving abuse of power, and RM10,000 cash. But what about the billion Ringgit cases and all the big fishes?
I am not aligned to any political stance or party, but the more you watch TV, the more obvious it becomes. The mass media (like the SPRM) is just a puppet. Everyday we see wrongdoings of the government opposition members. Made me think. So the govt people are 'clean' eh?
Back to the MACC. Whenever people complained somewhere, maybe on TV, about a particular someone abusing his/her power or bribing etc etc, the MACC ought to act immediately and run a thorough investigation, even if it's a hoax. I know there are a lot of reports given to the MACC about some political figures, but no action was taken towards them. Why? You know where is the MACC put, so you know why.
Another popular excuse given to public reports or complaints is that the reports made are without proof or evidence. Without any evidence they cannot do anything. I tell them - The f**k are you thinking you f*****g MACC!? we made complaints so that YOU go over there and find those evidences for us. If we were to find proof ourselves then you might just resign. Dickheads.
Well, just another example of how funny the MACC works now. They should change their name to MABC instead that is Malaysian Anti Boredom Council. Thanks for making us highly educated Malaysians laugh MABC. Hard.
