Episode 6: "I See Dead People"

so yeah, basically in this entry imma write about uh.. nightmares. yeah, the times, the bad times when u wake up in the middle of the night with cold sweat on your forehead, tachypnoea (rapid breathing), prolly tremors and frightening images running thru your head, of what u just saw, in your dream.

definition? wikipedia describes nightmare as: a dream which causes strong unpleasant emotional response from the sleeper, typically fear or horror, the sensations of pain, falling or fear of death. (although falling isn't really a bad nightmare).

dreaming of cute white ghosts dancing to Michael Jackson's 'Thriller' is not a nightmare.

so uh.. i tried to find medical evidence concerning this particular topic, but at press time, i haven't been able to produce one. (haha) but nevermind, guess we'll just have to make sensible, understandable although unprofessional guesses of our own. well, i'm trying to be understandable by all here, not only the medical population.

so what do i think about nightmares? i think that they are really f****d up, because of the facts below:

1) u wasted your sleeping time waking up for no good.

2) u can't get back to sleep because u're afraid the nightmare's coming back!

3) u ended up being sick and fatigued instead of happy and refreshed.

4)coz' they just suck.

and since we're talking about nightmares, its better to define what kinda dream can actually be called a nightmare? well straightforward i think its everything that mess u up. ie; your bully classmate ruining your day or the worst teacher screwing u up, or maybe the typical "i see dead people" kinda nightmare-ghosts, monsters, creatures..well, u know what i'm talking bout. =S

prevention:

1) go to sleep in good mood.

2) wash your feet (particularly for Muslims, take wudu')

3) avoid watching horror movies or anything of that genre and then straight to bed. (read my entry The Trace of Our Lives)

4) if u got waken up from a nightmare, try and cool it off before going back to sleep.

5) consult your GP if you're having persistent sleeping disorders. =)

that's all for now. i'll add a few stuff in the next filler episode. happy reading. ;)
